Who We Are

LoveSoil is founded by The Land Gardeners.

Bridget Elworthy and Henrietta Courtauld are Gardeners, Designers, and Soil Activists.

Over the last 14 years, they have seen first hand the enormous potential of soil to heal food systems, support biodiversity and protect land from cycles of droughts and floods. They have met with astounding individuals reversing global soil degradation with pioneering practices bringing life back to our gardens and farms.

LoveSoil is the next chapter, turning decades of experience, relationships and creative influence into a dedicated platform for soil. Connecting people, knowledge and action at a moment when healthy soils have never mattered more.

What LoveSoil does

Art & Storytelling

We shift the way the world sees soil. Bringing together artists, storytellers and changemakers through global exhibitions and commissions that make soil visible, relevant and emotionally compelling. Turning a hidden ecological crisis into something people can see, feel and act on.

Scaling practical solutions

We make healthy soil possible everywhere. Connecting farmers, growers and gardeners with the knowledge, tools and resources they need to put regenerative soil principles into practice, at scale. To turn better soil stewardship into real-world change.

Creating community

We connect, champion and celebrate the people restoring soil around the world. Nurturing the relationships, creating the networks and shared experiences that help good practice spread.

Why LoveSoil

Soil is the foundation of life.

We depend on soil, yet we barely see it, 95% of our food depends on it, and around a quarter of the planet’s biodiversity lives in it. Yet the health of soils is declining under pressure from intensive agriculture, erosion, chemical inputs and climate change, threatening food security, biodiversity, climate resilience and the future of farming.

The good news is that solutions already exist. Farmers, scientists, artists, educators and land managers are developing new ways to restore, protect and regenerate soil. Their knowledge, practice and stories need greater visibility, connection and support to reach the scale the challenge demands. LoveSoil exists to help change that.

Our mission is simple: make soil understood, loved and protected.
